This photo shows the beach in 1969 looking out to the sea and one of the early breakwaters. At that time, they were much smaller and shorter than today’s massive structures.
The beach itself was also significantly narrower. In the following decades, the coastline was repeatedly nourished and expanded with larger breakwaters, gradually creating the wide beach we know today.
A quiet moment from a time when the sea felt closer and the shoreline appeared far more natural.
💬Do you recognize the beach, or does it look like a completely different place?
